- Create a book wall and stack it up with first editions of my favourite books. Or a vinyl collection of 80s songs starting with Marvin Gaye. Just managed to fill a bookshelf – long way to go.
- Pitch a tent in the middle of nowhere on a starry full moon night. Sorry, the camping ground doesn’t count Ajay.
- Finish learning a foreign language. Tried and failed at French. Is there anything easier?
- Skydive all hot locations. Dubai done, should we try the Everest or the Pyramids next
- Become skilled in playing guitar. Managed to play En Iniya Pon Nilave and am done.
- Learn to shoot print-worthy portraits with DSLR. Getting there but realised at times an iPhone is more handy than a Canon.
- Master at least one dance style and stop embarrassing myself in a dance floor.
- Publish a book. Turning into my new year resolution for every year.
- Complete a marathon run. Nope, my half-marathon doesn’t check this.
- Shoot an automatic rifle in Vegas. Hoping at least one idiot friend reading this takes me here for his bachelor’s party.
- Learn to box for real or maybe try and learn Parkour.
- Backpack solo across any SE Asian country without any planned itinerary or hotel reservations.
- Cook all my meals for a month. Am I too pampered?
- Take an expedition cruise to the Antarctic. Or scuba dive on a Galapagos cruise.
- Live alone in a distant, unknown city or country. Life of a tourist doesn’t count sadly.
- Go on a long cross-country ride. Crossing my fingers for a planned trip next year.
- Have a bar cabinet stocked with the best single malts. Collection in process.
- Work for a non-profit organization; volunteer more than one day a month for some good cause. One day clean-ups don’t count.
- Go without using a smartphone for a month. Dumbphone still in wishlist for 2 years now
- Drive an F1 car – only for a spin, not the actual race.
- Spend time in a snowy cabin in the Russian wilderness with a typewriter and a paper pen for company. (maybe not too long to not make me crazy)
- Experience Bull Run and the La tomato festival in Spain. (I know this is from ZNMYD, not a fan of movie by any means)
- Watch a popular stage drama/opera even if in a language I don’t understand.
- Modify an Enfield from the ground up. Probably going to try this with my SUV.
- Go on an actual blind date (this must happen in case any of the readers get benevolent here)
- Watch 3 movies back to back in a theatre. Done. You don’t pat yourselves for doing it on Netflix – everyone has.
- Go completely vegan for a month. Anyone who knows me well would say this is the toughest thing here; but we shall overcome.
- Own a wardrobe that is the envy of Patrick Bateman or James Bond. If only Chennai climate would allow to wear suits
- Buy a round-the-globe ticket and watch the Northern lights.
- Learn flying – get a Private Pilot license. How does Chennai not have a flying school
PS – the list is still in making. And ofcourse I do want to travel and have my passport stamped in all 193 countries in the world – but just not everything at once.
